Koena Mitra, talks about why she went for a nose job.
So if, some day, I decide toget that stitch mark corrected, then it is not really cosmetic surgery. You arenot really changing yourself. You are only correcting that scars that are seenon the big screen or in pictures. I think that everyone, from schoolgirlsto college goers to housewives, has a thing for perfection. It is only the feelgood factor that drives them to take such an action. They want to be happy whenthey look at themselves. For actors, actresses and models, who are alwayscaptured on the camera, it is even more important, because on the big screen, even a pimple mark looks fairly big. So, when I went for a nose correction, itwas not like I suddenly woke up and told myself one day that I needed a nosejob. It was something that had been on my mind for a long time. Itwas not something that I got done because I was dying for perfection. I had wonthe supermodel crown in India, had gone to Germany and won the runners-up crownthere, I had already done three movies, and I was a film star without it too.But a lot of people, especially technicians, who worked with me, had put it inmy mind that the left side of my nose looked bigger than the right side.
Peoplewho worked with me everyday, or who saw my shoots, they told me this. And at theend of the day, we all are human beings, we do get influenced. I got influenced, and I thought that a small correction will do no harm. But then, youdon’t know how your skin will react to a certain procedure. After thesurgery, there was some swelling in my cheek bones, and then I had to takemedication for that. That’s about it. Nothing before that and nothingafter. People should be a little broad-minded. I took a break for three monthstill the swelling subsided. And when I felt good about it, I spoke about it, asI thought there was nothing to hide.”Check out Koena Mitra’s homepage
