Exclusive! Koena Mitra's father passes away

Koena Mitra has lost her father. Mr Bishwanath Mitra was 73. He passed away in Kolkata, where Koena had almost parked herself since a year. The 'Musafir' actress put up an indirectly-worded post on March 5 saying, "#Dad, We'll meet again, Another life, Another story" but the media apparently did not notice it.
A source says, "Koena was shuttling between Kolkata and Mumbai a lot since the last 12-13 months.Her father suffered a lot of pain and agony; his condition was not improving despite the best efforts of the doctors who were treating him. He was in and out of the hospital several times, especially since October 2020."

When contacted, Koena, who was very close to her Dad, revealed that he succumbed to renal failure. "He had chronic diabetes which had caused him serious glaucoma and eventually his kidneys got affected. He underwent dialysis many times and it was extremely painful."
Koena Mitra's mother continues to stay in Kolkata for now. "She won't travel for a year and hence I will still be going to Kolkata frequently for the next 10-11 months at least."
