Legendary playback singer SP Balasubramanyam has a word of advice for GenNxt music directors.
Speaking at the double platinum disc function of Pandurangadu, Balu urged young music directors to go back to the roots and expressed his dismay at the tendency to blatantly copy the West. "In the past, Telugu music had a distinct flavour of its own.
But these days you cannot seem to tell where or who the music comes from as they all sound the same. The quality of song writing too has taken a back seat. It is an issue that needs to be addressed urgently," said Balasubramanyam. Is anybody listening?
