Giselle's got a big break
No cameras on the sets and no interviews – everyone on the sets of Roshan Abbas’ directorial venture Always Kabhi Kabhi may have been sworn to secrecy, but we managed to find a way through the security.
The cast and crew were in Lucknow earlier this year, February to be precise, and are now back to re-shoot portions of the film. The production team had a tough time maintaining the continuity in the scenes, as many of the local students who had shot for the film earlier were difficult to track after all these months.

The film is supposed to be the launch vehicle of a Morani daughter Zoa Morani in Bollywood. But while Zoa has not been to Lucknow to shoot for the film, Brazilian model-turned-actor Giselle Monteiro is very much here. Interestingly, Giselle now speaks Hindi much more fluently than she did on her last visit to Lucknow. “I was shocked to hear Giselle not only talking to us in Hindi but also understanding what we were saying. She is really intelligent and whenever we sat together on lunch breaks, all of us wanted to hear her talk in Hindi! It is so cool to hear this language from a Brazilian model.
She sounds so cute,” says actress Preetika Chawla. But shooting in Lucknow wasn’t all that fun this time for the cast, adds Preetika. “The weather this time was way too tricky. Since the movie is based on college life, we were supposed to wear short skirts and because of the chill, we were all shivering. But yes, one thing that we all thoroughly enjoyed were the morning rains, though I couldn’t have my favourite Tundey ke kebabs and biryani as I wasn’t well,” rues Preetika who left for Mumbai yesterday.
Apart from the three-day shooting schedule, we hear, there’s a great deal of Lucknow in this film and not just because it’s being shot in the city. For one, the director is a Lucknowite. And then, actor Ali Fazal, who plays one of the leads in the film, also belongs to the city.
