Govinda makes his Marathi film debut

Govinda in an earlier interview to Mirror (June 10) had informed that he has finished his work in Anurag Basu's 'Jagga Jasoos'. It's not clear yet if the filmmakers will retain his portions in the Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer or replace him.
Meanwhile, the 51-year-old actor has started shooting for a Marathi film. The yet untitled film is being directed by Devdatt Manjrekar and is eyeing a year-end or early 2016 release.Says a source close to the development, “The film kicked off on June 15 and should wrap up by September.It's an out-and-out commercial film with Govinda playing a man from the rural interiors."

The makers have also roped in 'funny man' Johnny Lever.
“Yes, we are doing a Marathi film with Govinda sir but it is too early to reveal details." Eoped in 'funny man' Johnny Lever, who costarred with Govinda in movies like Dulhe Raja, Hadh Kar Di Aapne and Joru Ka Ghulam.TV actress Ketaki Palav will make her film debut opposite Govinda.
Uttung Thakur, who has put together the project, confirmed the news saying, “Yes, we are doing a Marathi film with Govinda sir but it is too early to reveal details."
