On February 6, the celebrated singer was cremated at the Shivaji Park grounds in Mumbai.Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral procession was attended by hundreds and a sea of fans turned up to pay their last respects to the iconic singer. From politicians to actors – almost everyone turned up for the revered singer’s funeral.
Lata Mangeshkar passed away after nearly a month of hospitalization. She was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in January this year, after being diagnosed with Covid-19 and pneumonia. The 92 year old singer passed away due to multi-organ failure. Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar was cremated with full state honours. The Government of India also announced two days of State mourning as a mark of respect to the legend.
