And when the shoot was in progress she decided not to wash her hair for 10 days so that she could ace the jail look perfectly.

Malayalam actress Malavika Mohanan will be making her big Bollywood debut in Majid Majidi’s ‘Beyond the Clouds’. While the movie primarily revolves around Ishaan Khatter's character, Malavika still managed to receive a lot of praises and accolades for her rugged looks. In order to get into the skin of her character, Malavika reportedly pushed her boundaries to stay true to the Iranian filmmaker's vision.She will be essaying the role of Ishaan’s sister in the movie. As per reports, Malavika lost around 8 kilos in just 15 days for a jail sequence that she shot for ‘Beyond the Clouds’. And when the shoot was in progress she decided not to wash her hair for 10 days so that she could ace the jail look perfectly.She revealed how Majid Majidi has a clear vision of how his characters must look. “Majidi sir has a very clear vision for all his characters. All his characters are real people going through real issues. It started with my losing weight before I started filming to physically look like an inmate,” Malavika said in a statement.She added, “With the help and guidance of a nutritionist and my gym trainer, I could achieve this goal in just 15 days. By the time I was in the shoot process, I had taken my deep dive into the character. So, I went on to the extent of not washing my hair for 10 days for them to genuinely look dirty and messy.”‘Beyond the Clouds’ marks the debut of both Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan. With a heart-wrenching plot, the story is tale of a brother and sister, and how they find happiness in separation and turbulent times.
