Actress Sulagna Panigrahi on her love for food and cookingMY PERSONAL DE-aSTRESS MANTRA IS...Cooking. I love to cook. As a kid I was never allowed in the kitchen, as I would always leave a mess behind. So when I started living alone, the kitchen became a laboratory for my experiments. I love everything involved in the process, from washing the colourful vegetables, cutting them and cooking them. The only thing I don’t like is cutting is onions.
Cooking is actually like painting for me; I just put the colours together. I never follow a recipe, I follow my instincts. I love to invite friends over and cook special dishes for them.
IN MY LEISURE TIME...I love to read books and watch movies. I love reading fiction as non-fiction feels like I am studying, although I’m planning to try out some non-fiction books soon. My favourite book is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. I love watching movies so much that I carry a portable DVD player on the sets and catch up on films during my free time. I love foreign films, especially European films. I love the narrative in them. Also, I like writing stories during my free time. Someday, when I get over my laziness, I will surely finish a script.
A COOK OR A FOODIE...Both, as I think they go hand in hand. If you love food then the cook in you automatically awakens. I don’t believe in dieting; I’m more of ‘die-eating’ kind of person! I miss the food in Delhi, but now I have found a few wonderful places in Mumbai as well.
MY HOBBIES...I love swimming, dancing, adventure sports, etc. In fact, I have just started driving on my own so me and my friends love going on long drives. I like water sports and trekking as well, since I’m an army kid. I have also driven a tank, although it’s not a hobby I can keep!
HOMEBODY OR PARTY ANIMAL...Definitely homebody. I have partied so much during school that now I am totally over it. I find screaming over loud music to have a conversation too taxing. I love chilling at home and chatting with friends, playing games, etc.
TIPS TO DE-STRESS...A road trip across our country exploring its beauty would be a great stress-buster. But most of us don’t have the time for a country road trip, So a quick option would be getting off your couch or office chair and going out, just looking at the beauty of nature.
