Karan Johar who is known to launch new faces not only in front of the camera but also behind is continuing his tradition by giving a launch pad to Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan with Sarzameen. The film is directed by Boman Irani’s son Kayoze Irani who made his debut with Karan’s Student of the Year. Adding to his long list of fresh names is Khushi Kapoor who made her debut as Betty Cooper in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies.

Karan Johar is bringing two of the youngest actors in the business together for a film which will be directed by his assistant Shauna Gautam. Shauna assisted Karan for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, she also assisted Rajkumar Hirani on Sanju. The talks of two of them coming together had come up in August this year, when both of them were spotted leaving Casting Director Mukesh Chhabra's office in Andheri.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, it is being suggested that the film is romantic comedy which will be a direct-to-digital release as it is being produced by the digital arm of Karan Johar’s production company Dharmatics. The film is scheduled to go on floors by next year, while casting is currently going on for the remaining characters in the film.
