The Special cover is a foiled and embossed cover with a Rs. 5 stamp that features an illustration depicting Film Heritage Foundation Director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur and the Film Heritage Foundation conservators rescuing celluloid films in danger of being lost forever.
The foundation preserves a growing collection of about 700 films currently on celluloid and have an archive of about 200,000 objects of film-related memorabilia.

Honoured to receive this recognition: Film Heritage Foundation Director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur

"From the time I was a child, I used to collect stamps, loved writing letters and visiting the post office. This was inculcated in me by my maternal grandfather who was a prolific letter- writer till he was almost 90 years old. Even today I continue to write and post letters and visit post offices in every city and town that I go to. So I was honoured to receive a letter from the Chief Postmaster General about the release of a Special Cover on the occasion of the 10 th anniversary of Film Heritage Foundation in appreciation of our work over a decade to save our film heritage. I am overwhelmed by the acknowledgement by such a historic department of the Indian Government of the importance of our film heritage and the depiction of the challenges of preserving celluloid on the Special Cover. I will accept this honour at the ceremony on behalf of my team at Film Heritage Foundation that has enabled us to put film
preservation on the map in India and the subcontinent and to restore and celebrate the beauty of our film heritage around the world. I would like to thank the Chief Postmaster General, Kishan Kumar Sharma and the Postmaster General of Mumbai, Amitabh Singh, for bestowing this honour on Film Heritage Foundation."
The postal Special Cover and stamp will be released at a ceremony at the heritage building of the General Post Office (GPO) in V.T., Mumbai in the presence of the Chief Postmaster General of Maharashtra, the Postmaster General of Mumbai and other eminent personalities next week.
