While actors undergoing weight gain/loss is common in Hollywood, it’s probably the first time that an Indian actor has attempted the same for forthcoming film Court.
The multilingual Indian courtroom drama is written and directed by Chaitanya Tamhane, who makes his debut as a filmmaker with this one.

The film, which has been screened at various festivals and has won rave reviews, will release In India on April 17.

Producer-actor Vivek Gomber, who plays the lead protagonist in the film, not only put on 17 kilos for the role in his pursuit to look the part in the National Award winning film, but spent hours studying lawyers to get into the skin of his character.
“We had no reference point either in films or elsewhere to study the character, as there have hardly been such realistic courtroom dramas attempted here. Also, every court house differs from another, so it was quite a task to get the mannerisms of a lawyer right. They are far different from the kinds we usually see in popular films,” says Vivek.
