Is Jennifer Winget starring opposite Kartik Aryan in ‘Aashiqui 3’? Director Anurag Basu reacts

Kartik Aaryan will soon be seen in the third instalment of the iconic ‘Aashiqui 3’ franchise. Ever since the announcement, fans have done crazy and are also keen on knowing who would play Kartik’s romantic interest in the film.
Buzz is that popular TV actress Jennifer Winget has been roped for the same. The team is yet to give a formal update on the same. Amid all the speculations, a news portal reached out to director Anurag Basu doe the update where he shared the casting is yet ti happen.“Well, I’ve been also hearing about these rumours. However, honestly, we’re currently at a very nascent stage. We’re currently ideating about various other aspects of film-making. Casting will be locked later on”.

Back in 1990, the first film from the Aashiqui franchise, which was helmed by Mukesh Bhatt was a massive hit and success. The film starred Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal as on-screen lovers. In 2013, the franchise was followed up with Mohit Suri helmed ‘Aashiqui 2’ starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur.
Kartik Aaryan too expressed his joy on being a part of the film. He shared that Aashiqui is a timeless classic he grew up watching and working on ‘Aashiqui 3’ is like a dream come true for him. “I feel privileged yet grateful collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I’ve been a big fan of Anurag Basu’s work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways.”
Producers of 'Aashiqui 3' also issued a statement about the film's casting and said, "There is no truth to any rumours pertaining to the female lead opposite Kartik Aaryan in ‘Aashiqui 3.’ The search for the perfect fit for the movie is still ongoing. We are currently in a very early stage where we are still coming up with ideas for the movie. Much like the audience, we are eagerly awaiting to finalise the female lead of the film and would love to share it with the fans as early as possible."
