Is 'Screw Love' more vulgar than D K Bose?
Miffed over the Censor Board’s double standards when it comes to issuing certification, director Luv Ranjan of Pyar Ka Punchanma fame has attacked the method of working of the Censors, saying, “There have to be changes in the way the Censors function.
Why cannot there be a fixed panel of members who issue certificates? This will at least ensure consistency, which is missing these days.” Citing examples of some glaring inconsistencies, Luv Ranjan says, “Words like DK Bose, Bechain dil tharki ho gaya, slutty Savitri are passed, but a tag line of the my film, which said ‘Screw love’ was found to be in bad taste and was asked to be changed! Strangely the 'love, sex and drugs' tag line for Dum Maaro Dum was cleared! Even Akshay taking off the strap of a woman’s top in Thank You, Salman slapping the butt of women in his Character Dheela song, etc are not found offensive! But, when I show reality in my film - like live-in relationships, use of cuss words by guys, some which I beeped myself, I was pulled up for giving the wrong signal to youngsters.
1x1 polls

Mooting for a sensitive panel, Luv Ranjan says, “Though Pyar Ka Punchnama is my first film, I am taking up cudgels with the Censors so that things change. I’ll cite the example of my film’s tag line ‘screw love.’ A person in the Board asked me to change it to ‘true love.’ For God’s sake, my film’s not a mushy film espousing the cause of love! It’s an anti-rom com of sorts and I can’t believe the Censors don’t understand this. I and my film cannot pay the price for the lack of sensitivity in people.”
