Jackky Bhagnani's short film 'Carbon' received a lot of appreciation and love from the audience. The Hindi science-fiction film was focused on the issue of global warming.
The movie is set in 2067, on earth where carbon is the gas in abundance, oxygen has become one of the most expensive commodity and there is a dearth of clean drinking water due to climate change!
Jackky plays a man with an artificial heart and Nawazzudin Siddiqui plays the role of a man from Mars.
The film has been awarded the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award under the best short film category.
“Carbon deals with serious environmental issues like global warming and climate change, and their impact on our world. Carbon is an attempt at creating awareness. As an actor and producer, the only way I know how to communicate with audiences is through films. I am truly humbled to receive this honour especially for a film that contributes to issues relevant to today's day and age and climate change is an issue that needs immediate attention", said Jackky Bhagnani.
Jackky is producing Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's next 'Coolie No. 1' which has been slated for May 2020 release.
