Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar,
Sonam Kapoor Ahuja,
Shilpa Shetty and
Jacqueline Fernandez will join international names such as Jason Derulo,
Dua Lipa, and
CeeLo Green for a 24-hour live broadcast to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts. The 24-hour fundraising broadcast, which features a star-studded line-up of 150 artistes from across the globe, will begin on May 29 from 4pm GMT (9:30pm IST).
The event, called OHM Live, is seeking to raise funds for international COVID-19 relief causes.
Under the banner of 'dream with us', the celebs will also try to inspire real-time engagement from viewers. The broadcast will be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook, IGTV, TikTok and ohm.constellation.art, as well as a number of major TV networks. The program has been carefully constructed to feature major stars from each region as the "peak time" moves across different regions. Apart from performances by Karan Johar, Shilpa Shetty, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja,
Mallika Dua, Mahira Khan, Raja Kumari and Ali Zafar, the schedule in the Indian subcontinent will feature a special segment with Jacqueline Fernandez and internet personality Amanda Cerny. The European segment will see Lorena Bernal along with her football coach husband Mikel Arteta, who overcame COVID-19 himself earlier this year, plus an in-depth interview with Dua Lipa.
In the Americas, Jason Derulo will perform alongside names like Jewel, CeeLo Green and Deepak Chopra, as well as Colombian superstar Maluma. There will also be a live meditation session hosted by Jay Shetty. The event is an initiative of human impact accelerator Constellation. Zaid Fredericks, co-founder, Constellation, says, "Over the 24 hours, we wanted to make OHM Live a truly global experience so that people everywhere would be able to participate. The programme has not been designed to cater to a certain audience or a certain country but for every time zone, every region. We want to make sure that everyone understands that for 24 hours on May 29 we are all in this together, whether you're in Africa, the United States, Europe, Asia, or Australia." All money raised through OHM Live's Constellation Dream Fund will go to beneficiaries such as Global Gift Foundation, Médecins Sans Frontières, Dubai Cares, the International Red Cross, the Red Crescent and FromU2Them, all of whom are supporting those on the frontlines fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
