. The actor, who plays a singer-musician in the reincarnation drama starring Sunny Leone, reveals why losing his six-pack abs was the toughest part of his role.READ: Sunny Leone sports various avatars in 'Ek Paheli Leela' He says, “Going back to Punjabi food was good. But it is painful to see the abs disappear. After all, getting six-pack abs involves a lot of hard work and discipline.
I had to do it because a singer couldn’t be flaunting a chiselled body.’’
Besides changing the way he looked, the actor also took guitar lessons for three weeks to ensure that he doesn’t appear gimmicky in the song '
Nahin Laage Jiya..'. “I was really bad the first two weeks but got better at the rhythm eventually. I am still learning the guitar,” he concedes. While some male actors may have qualms about working with the adult star Sunny Leone, Jay states, “It’s funny that on one hand we talk of woman power and on the other, we cannot appreciate a hard-working person who must be seen for what she is today. She gives her 100 per cent to her role and that’s what should matter to her co-actors.”
About the success of music in his films, he says, “Music is not something you need to think about when you’re working with T-Series. They know what works. The remake factor is becoming a happy norm for me — be it '
Aaj Phir Tumpe..' in
Hate Story 2 or '
Deewana Tera..' in this film.”
Talking of being inundated with female attention, the married actor says, “It’s great. Every actor dreams of being popular among girls.’’
