Kareena Kapoor Khan is surprised by Poo’s popularity

Karan Johar's second directorial venture, 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', had a massive star cast, which included Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Despite the impressive lineup, it’s was Kareena’s character Poo that stood out. The self-obsessed girl with a heart of gold was loved by the audience. The character and many of its iconic dialogues are remembered by people even today.
Kareena, who was seen in the film ‘Angrezi Medium’, recently completed 20 years in the industry. During a recent interaction for an international podcast, the actress spoke about her iconic character Poo. She said that even she is surprised that the character in the Karan Johar-film, which will complete 20 years in 2021, continues to be extremely popular and has made a comeback of sorts. She realises that the youth connected a lot to it back then and the same holds true even today. She pointed out that though actresses do different parts, one hasn't really come across a character like Poo, who is so blasé and just speaks her mind.
When asked whether she had any reservations about enacting it, Kareena said that she did ask the director about all that he was making her do on the screen, but is happy with the end result.
