Karisma is pals with her hubby's ex-wife
Ex-cellent bonding: Karisma Kapoor has apparently hit it off very well with her hubby's ex-wife, designer Nandita Mahtani.
We've discovered that Karisma Kapoor is good friends with hubby Sanjay Kapur's ex-wife, designer Nandita Mahtani.
The friendship apparently blossomed after Karisma moved back to Mumbai and started dropping in at Nandita's Bandra store, Ananya, for shopping.
A close friend of Nandita says, "The fact that even Madonna, Beyonce Knowles and Naomi Campbell pick up Nandita's designer wear from her sister's London store, made Karisma curious. That's how she landed up at Nandita's store to shop."
Karisma married Sanjay while he was getting a divorce from his first wife Nandita. They announced their wedding barely 10 days after Sanjay obtained his divorce.
The threesome have often bumped into each other at parties and social gatherings. But surprisingly, they didn't give each other the cold shoulder.
Now, we hear, the two women are good friends and often catch up with each other over lunches and at soirees. A close friend of Nandita says, "They're very friendly with each other. It's good to see them bonding like school girls. Nandita has also moved on after her divorce and is happy with her guy Dino (Morea)."
A source close to Karisma reveals, "Nandita had maintained a dignified silence when Lolo was going through a bad patch in her marriage. Lolo appreciated that and was very warm to Nandita in return, whenever they met at common friends' parties. And, anyway, why can't you be friends with your husband's former wife?"
“Sanjay doesn't have a problem with his former and current wives bonding as friends. Nandita and Sanjay met when both of them were pursuing their studies in London. Sanjay was studying at the Buckingham University and Nandita at the American college. Both of them dated for two years and married soon after. Their marriage may not have survived but they have no reason to badmouth each other. It's always best to forget the past. And that's exactly what the three of them have done,” the source goes on to say.
