Rumours surrounding Anurag Basu’s Kishore Kumar biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor never seem to die. Last year, it was Ranbir's date issue which was supposed to be one of the reasons for the film's delay, then some time around the release of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir had clearly stated that they would start once they had sought permission from Madhubala’s family as they wouldn't want to hurt their sentiments, and now once again if rumours are to be believed, it is Ranbir who has got busy with Anurag Kashyap’s 'Bombay Velvet' resulting in the film’s delay. Industry sources say, the actor wants to do full justice to his character in the legendary singer’s biopic. Apparently, he has to gain some weight and look older for the role. Also, he has to do a lot of research and study the character well as it is a known fact that Kishore Kumar had several moods and shades to his character that people still talk about.
Ranbir being extremely meticulous in whatever role he takes up, needs some time to work on the character, say source. In fact, the film’s director had also admitted last year that the role demands a lot of work, both for the director as well as the actor considering various shades of Kishore Kumar’s personality. But, right now the actor doesn’t have enough time in his hand to prepare for the role because of his prior commitments. Hence, trade sources, say, that the biopic won’t go on the floors till 2015.
