The new plea seeks urgent directions to prevent Priya Sachdev Kapur and several other respondents from interfering in the administration of the RK Family Trust while mediation is underway.According to TOI City, in her latest application, Rani Kapur has asked the apex court to protect the functioning of the family trust until the court-appointed mediation process is completed. She has argued that no party should be allowed to alter the trust’s management structure during this period.Rani Kapur has also requested a stay on a board meeting scheduled for May 18. The meeting was convened through a notice dated May 8 issued by Raghuvanshi Investment Private Limited, which reportedly controls a substantial portion of the disputed estate. According to her legal team, the proposed meeting is intended to appoint additional directors to the board. They contend that this move could alter the balance of control within the family-linked companies before mediation concludes.The matter was mentioned before a bench led by Chief Justice of India JB Pardiwala. After hearing the submissions, the bench agreed to list the case for hearing on May 14. During the proceedings, the judge observed, “We have entered into an arena. Mahabharat will look very small. We will look into it." The comment underscored the scale and complexity of the dispute now unfolding before the court.Only days earlier, on May 7, the Supreme Court had appointed former Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud as mediator. He was tasked with facilitating discussions between Rani Kapur and Priya Sachdev Kapur in an effort to resolve the estate dispute outside prolonged litigation.
