Who can forget the films Aashiqui, Dil Hain Ke Manta Nahin and Sadak. Films that were testament to the convictions of Mahesh Bhatt and Gulshan Kumar. Their combined vision also ensured great commercial results, with each film having a cult appeal. These films are certainly a tough act to follow. So almost two decades later, instead of attempting to ‘follow’,
Bhushan Kumar, Mahesh Bhatt,
Himesh Reshammiya and Pooja Bhatt decided to break new ground instead.
And the tone, tenor and surreal locales of Kajraare are an indicator that the bar has been raised in every-way.
“The music of Kajraare is sensational,” Says Mahesh Bhatt, who continues, “The songs have a physical impact on the body! And the body does not lie.” Adds Himesh Reshammiya, “I approached the music of Kajraare with deep humility and sincerity. In its creation I have been absolutely sincere and true to my heart.” This sincerity was not only palpable but very contagious and enthused Bhushan Kumar to back Pooja Bhatt’s vision of setting the film and its unique soundtrack in a physically challenging location like Petra, Jordan which has never been seen before on the Indian screen. “I am sure that Kajraare will take the journey my father and Mahesh Bhatt set out on almost two decades ago to a whole new level. The music which is due to release on May 29 and the subsequent film release on August 6 shall deliver to its audience more than most can hope to promise in the market today,” concludes Bhushan.
