RIDING HIGH: Tara Sharma (TOI Photo) She has those babe in the woods looks, but beneath that charming exterior lies a razor-sharp intellect.
Tara Sharma chose glitz and glamour as her niche world, even though her earlier films like Om Jai Jagadish didnt fare well at the BO. The actor, who has got married a few months back, is now doing a lot of big projects along with her modelling assignments, and she admits that shes enjoying the best of both worlds along with marital bliss.
On having arrived: I am shooting round-the-clock and I am enjoying this phase.
1x1 polls
Theres Suno Na, wherein I play a young unmarried middle-class girl, who gets pregnant. Maharathi is a great project wherein I play a young, innocent student. Jack N Jhol is a comedy. I am also playing a meaty role in The Other End of the Line. My film Amawas will be released soon and I am also working in Rituparno Ghoshs short film.
Breaking myths: The myth about married actors not doing well at the BO, has been broken long back. I think marriage has proved to be very lucky for me.
On missing the intellectual world: A lot of people ask me whether I miss the world of financial wizardry after being in this filmi world. Despite being a part of Bollywood, I am using my talent and investing in properties in a small way. Plus, I am also helping my husband with his new company, which is involved in making the TV commercials.
On top slots: Success is a very relative thing. I may not be in the top slot but then I have done some fine international projects. I have achieved a perfect harmony and balance in my professional and marital life.
On widening the horizon: As of now, I havent really thought about directing a film or writing a script but then life is a dynamic process. And I am open to new aspects and experimentation with new mediums. So you never know!
On kids: Both my husband Roopak Saluja and I are too busy with work right now and parenthood is not on the agenda. That will have to wait for a while.
