Nandita's secret operation

Not many people know but Nandita Das was operated for appendicitis during the shooting of Firaaq.
Recalls the actress turned director, ���I had a severe stomach ache, which I had tried to cure with some home remedies and pain-killers to no avail. So I decided to go and see a doctor, who told me that in less than ten minutes, I should go into the ICU as I had acute appendicitis.��� But Nandita, knowing that her team was waiting for her in Hyderabad waiting to begin the shooting, flatly refused as she had a flight to catch.
��� I went straight to the hospital once I landed in Hyderabad. When the doctor there saw me there he was no less shocked and couldn���t believe that I took a flight in that condition and was still smiling. I was dying inside!��� she adds. Two days in the hospital and three days in the service apartment and she was back on the road going to see locations. ���My parents discovered this much later!��� she laughs.
