Nothing boring about Anjana!

Anjana Sukhani, who stole the hearts of the audiences as the other woman in Anil Kapoor’s life in 'Salaam-e-Ishq', tells the story of her action-packed career.
Nothing boring about Anjana!
Very few heroines venture to play the other woman unless the role offers immense potential to display real talent.
But, Anjana Sukhani is not just any other actor. Although she might have barely started out in Bollywood, she is extremely choosy about her roles. I would love to play a negative character. It would help me break the mould of being the girl next-door, says she.

Not that getting such roles has been easy for her. I have been told by many people I have a baby face, says she, explaining her difficulty in getting such roles.
But, if you have the will, the filmmakers show you the way. Allah Ke Banday gave Anjana the opportunity to show the dark side. My character is a model that has a bit of dark side to her. She falls in love with Sharman, and they realise their shortcomings through each other. While helping him change his ways, she also learns to grow as an individual, she explains.
If you think that Anjana would confine herself to dark characters, you are mistaken. The list of films she is working on not only features an array of roles but also testify to her talent. In Allah Ke Banday, Im acting alongside Sharman Joshi. Im also doing a slice-of-life film, titled Tum Milo to Sahi, starring Nana Patekar and Rehaan Khan. Then, Im doing a comedy called Jai Veeru with Fardeen Khan and Kunal Kohli. I play a model who falls in love with a goon. Im also starring in a film called Jashn with Adhyayan Suman and Shahana Goswami, says a beaming Anjana. That is an impressive list indeed.
What is it that she wants to do hereafter? My favourite idea is to do a romantic comedy. In fact, I would love to try out all genres of films. But, first I want to establish myself as an actor, she says.
Not many people know that Anjana has a degree in international business. She is also a well-known model who has done quite a few television commercials. What made her change tracks? I started modelling in the UK to fund my college fees. Once I came back to India, I continued modelling. It was then that I was offered a role in a film. Only after I started acting did I realise that it was something I enjoyed immensely. I guess it was just Gods will, she smiles.

Anjana has had the opportunity to work with many stalwarts of the industry. And, she has loved every minute of it. I worked with Aamir and Amitabhji in two ads. Aamir is an icon, while Amitabhji is a complete gentleman. I loved working with Sharman. He is a great actor, and to share screen space with him was amazing. Salman is a very generous, humble and down-to-earth human being. Nana sir was unlike anything I had heard about him. He is one of the funniest men Ive met, she says, giving a ringside view of her association with Bollywood actors.
What about Anil Kapoor with whom she acted in Salaam-e-Ishq? I share a special bond with Anil. He was more like a father figure to me. He was very nice to me, and made me very comfortable on the sets, she says. So, whats next for Anjana? I see myself moving ahead in my career and going to the next level. Whom would she like to act with when she reaches that level? That would have to be Shah Rukh Khan. He is my dream man, she laughs. The way she is going about her career choices, it is just a matter of time before SRK spots her.
