Om Puri once again in trouble

Veteran actor Om Puri who was in the eye of a storm last year after some dirty skeletons tumbled out of his cupboard with the launch of his biography, is once again in the middle of another controversy.
This time on account of his nephew, whom the actor raised, and who has just been released on bail after being incarcerated in Khalapur prison for almost a year on charges of forgery and cheating under sections 420, 467, 468, and 471. Jeetender Puri was arrested last August in Pune where he resides with his wife Urmila and his 10-year-old son.
Jeetetender was arrested along with his associate Surubhi Mishra, a known criminal, and whom he’s supposed to have secretly married in a gurudwara despite him being already married.
It has been learnt from reliable sources that actor Om Puri used his influence to make his nephew’s stay in prison comfortable on false medical pretext and also secure him the bail order.
When contacted, Om Puri’s wife and also his biographer Nandita Puri said that the actor was away in Toronto, and added, “We have no contacts with Jeetender. So, we’d not like to comment.”
