Due to the coronavirus outbreak, many film festivals have been cancelled/postponed around the world. But to ensure that movie buffs get a chance to watch this year's best films, some of the festivals have come together to host a 10-day-long online film fest, 'We Are One: A Global Film Festival'.
The festival is organised by YouTube and Tribeca Enterprises, and participating film festivals include Festival De Cannes, Toronto International Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival and Venice Film Festival.
The event will start streaming films from May 29 (Friday) at 4 pm.

A still from 'Nasir'
From India, two feature films, Prateek Vats's award-winning 'Eeb Allay Ooo!' (Hindi) Arun Karthick's 'Nasir' (Tamil), and two shorts, Shaan Vyas's 'Natkhat' and Atul Mongia's 'Awake', are in the lineup. The first film which will be broadcast is William Salazar's 5-minute film 'Bird Karma'. The film had its world premiere at the 2018 New York International Children's Film Festival. Some of the films will be available on the channel for the entire 10-day period, while other films will leave the platform after the screening. The YouTube channel will also screen recorded panel discussions of iconic film directors like Francis Ford Coppola and Ang Lee from film festivals.
