Vishal shared with Peeping Moon, “Suddenly, while we were shooting this action sequence in the train, I got to know that Nana Sir was unwell and had a 102-degree fever. We immediately called the doctor, who said he would give an injection but advised that Nana Sir should not shoot.”
Hearing this surprised everyone because shooting an action scene is very tiring, and doing it with a fever like that sounds extremely difficult.
Nana Patekar refused to stop shooting
Even after the doctor said that he should rest, Nana Patekar refused to leave the set. Vishal said that Nana did not want the shoot to be cancelled because of him.
Vishal shared, “But Nana Sir, being Nana Patekar, said, ‘No, I am not going back. I want to shoot. I want to complete this sequence. I can’t take this on my head ki mere wajah se shooting cancel hui, location cancel ho.’ And for the next four hours, he kept shooting with us.”
His condition was very serious
Vishal also said that Nana’s body was extremely warm, and everyone could feel how sick he really was. He explained that during breaks, Nana would lie down right on the train set because he had no energy left.
Vishal shared, “His body was so warm that we could feel the heat when touching his forehead. Between shots, he would lie down on the train set, and when he got up to perform, it felt like jaise bimaari thi hi nahi. This is the commitment of a great artist.”
Even with all this pain and weakness, Nana would get up the moment the camera rolled and perform the scene like nothing was wrong. This made the team see how strong he really is.
