Priyamani to receive award

Actress Priyamani will receive the national award from President Pratibha Patil today at a glittering function in Delhi.
She won the National Award for the Best Actress for the lead role she played as an innocent girl in Paruthiveeran.
Veyyil won the Best Film award in the Tamil language category. The film was directed by Vasantha Balan, who is currently busy with Angadi Theru.Veyyil, which portrayed the relationship between two brothers, received a lot of critical acclaim and went on to be screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Priyamani and Vasantha Balan will be honoured by the President today. Meanwhile, Priyamani is said to have given bulk dates to Mani Ratnam for his forthcoming project.
