Priyanka Chopra explains why self-bluffing is normal; says, 'it’s positive as long as you’re not bluffing to other people'

Priyanka Chopra is preparing for the release of her upcoming action drama The Bluff, but before audiences see her as a former pirate battling danger and revenge the actor is speaking about what 'Bluffing' actually means to her.In an interview with India Today, the 'Varanasi' star explained, “If you’re bluffing to yourself to gain confidence, that’s absolutely normal, and it’s human behaviour.” She added that this form of internal encouragement has been a constant throughout her career. Priyanka shared how she uses self-talk to feel grounded in unfamiliar environments. She said, “We all do it. You know, when you talk yourself into something, when you give yourself that extra boost of confidence, I’ve needed that my whole career.”Priyanka described the small rituals that help her walk into demanding rooms or intimidating spaces. “I’ll tell myself, you own this room, queen. Like, I don’t, but I tell myself that, so then I walk that way and I, I feel that way.”For her, this is not deception—it is survivalWhile she is open about using positive self-bluffing, Priyanka is clear about its limits. Confidence becomes harmful, she said, when the bluff is directed outward rather than inward.“Because all of us get nervous and, in new environments, meeting new people, that’s human, so let’s normalise that. It’s okay to bluff to yourself,” she said.Then the actress added a firm caution, “I think it’s positive as long as you’re not bluffing to other people.
