Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi's horror comedy opened to mixed reviews, but one thing that netizens can't stop talking about are the iconic film references in Phone Bhoot. The one that seems to have taken the cherry on the cake is a sequence where the cast trolls
Ranbir Kapoor and
Alia Bhatt’s Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva.
To jog your memory, Brahmastra was trolled for having Amitabh Bachchan’s secret hideout location on Google maps and Ranbir’s character Shiva mentioning Alia’s character Isha being his Agni Astra’s button.
A Twitter user noted that Phone Bhoot features jokes on the same lines. “Not the cast of #PhoneBhoot going to a secret hidout of the antagonist and saying: 'AATMARAM KI JAGAH KO KAISE DHOONDE, YEH TOH GOOGLE MAPS PE BHI NAHI HAI' or capturing his weapon and saying: 'ASTRA HAI TOH BUTTON TOH HOGA',” he wrote.
Netizens had a ball of time sharing reactions to this observation. In fact, audiences seem to be loving the way Katrina Kaif kind of took revenge for Ranbir and Alia dancing to Chikni Chameli in Brahmastra. While one user wrote, “This is called an indirect friendly roast of an ex boyfriend. Giving a reference of his movie. Wow Katrina”, another commented, “He did that too with chikni chameli in bramhastra”.
“I heard this movie has a lot of refrences spoof type so not surprised. Surprised that they went back and added in a already shot movie. Waise bhi rk alia danced on chikni chameli in brahmastra. Settled,” tweeted another.
Meanwhile, Katrina will next be seen in an upcoming action thriller film 'Tiger 3' alongside Salman Khan and in director Sriram Raghavan's next 'Merry Christmas' opposite South actor Vijay Sethupathi. She will also share screen with Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra in 'Jee Le Zara'.
