The much-loved patriotic film 'Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran' celebrates India’s superpower moment and is one of
John Abraham’s biggest solo hits. Riding strong on the pride and love for the motherland, the movie also stars
Boman Irani,
Diana Penty and Anuja Sathe. With extensive research carried out on the successful 1998 covert nuclear tests, 'Parmanu' gives the audience an authentic and in-depth view of how such a significant mission was carried out under the nose of the CIA and ISI and shook nations such as USA, China and Pakistan.
On the occasion of India’s 71st Independence Day, Zee Cinema is all set to showcase the story of this landmark event with the world TV premiere of 'Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran', tomorrow, at 12 noon.
Ask John, if he sees his film as a contender for the National Awards, and he says, “We think we deserve whatever the jury will decide for our film, but Parmanu is an edge-of-the-seat historical thriller that will make every Indian proud. It salutes the efforts of our unsung heroes who worked tirelessly against all odds to ensure that India finds its due place on the world nuclear map. The tests were an act of the biggest nuclear espionage in the history of any country and in one stroke, we had declared that we were not to be taken for granted. On this Independence Day, I am glad that every Indian can watch this story of India’s superpower moment.”
Diana Penty, who plays Captain Ambalika in the film, says, “This year marks 20 years of the historic Pokhran-II tests, one of India’s most significant events post independence. And there’s no better way to celebrate this landmark event than to relive the moment of pride that changed our history and defined the future of our nation.”
Watch the world TV premiere of 'Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran' tomorrow, (August 15) at 12 noon on Zee Cinema.
