Hollywood horror flicks have always fascinated Ram Gopal Varma. And the director has tried to retain the essence of three of his favourite horror films — The Exorcist, Rosemary’s Baby and The Omen — in Bhoot Returns, starring Manisha Koirala, JD Chakravarthy and Madhushalini. Says Ramu,
“Bhoot Returns is my tribute to these films as I think they are the most brilliant horror films ever made in the history of cinema.
All of them tell the story of a demonic child and that made them all the more interesting. And they all were successful.”
“The child has always been the integral part of all these films. A child represents innocence. And when that same child becomes a threat, it turns into a cause of fear, which is unexpected. I get very fascinated with this aspect of horror. I have attempted to do the same in my film,” he adds.
Bhoot Returns, produced by Alumbra Entertainment and presented by Eros International, releases worldwide on October 12.
