Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik has been granted bail by the Special NDPS Court today in connection to the drugs case. Confirming the same ANI had posted, “Special NDPS Court grants bail to Showik Chakraborty (
Rhea Chakraborty's brother) in a drugs case registered by Narcotics Control Bureau.” Showik was arrested on September 4 and was lodged at Taloga Central Jail.
Showik was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau after a drugs angle emerged during
Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case probe, the ED had shared several WhatsApp messages of Rhea with the CBI and NCB alleging the ‘usage and dealing of drugs’. Soon after conducting an extensive search at the Chakraborty’s Mumbai residence, the NCB had arrested Showik and Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda.
Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on September 8 and granted bail on October 7. As part of her bail conditions, she was asked to furnish Bail amount of one lakh and also told to deposit her passport with the investigating agency. Rhea Chakraborty was also asked to attend the office of the investigating agency on first Monday of every month between 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to mark her presence, for a period of six months. While for a period of 10 days after her release, the court has asked Rhea to present herself to the nearest police station.
