Sainiks stop Chhoti Si screening

MUMBAI: The Ek Chhoti Si Love Story was Friday released in cinema halls despite a court ban but a theatre in suburban Bandra stopped screening of the movie on a plea of Shiv Sainiks.

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">MUMBAI: The Women''s wing of Shiv Sena on Friday set afire posters of controversial film <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Ek Chhoti Si Love Story</span> at Chitra theatre here and stopped its screening in protest against "objectionable" scenes depicting actress Manisha Koirala in bad light.<br />About 30 to 40 Sena activists marched into the theatre in central Mumbai and raised slogans "Shiv Sena zindabad".

The screening was immediately stopped and the viewers had to leave the cinema hall disappointed.<br />The demonstration was peaceful, police said.<br />The manager of the theatre said all the shows of the film had been cancelled.<br />In Gemini theatre in suburban Bandra, Shiv Sainiks stopped the screening of the film. Its manager assured the demonstrators that all the shows had been cancelled and the film would not be screened.<br />Earlier, the actress met Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray at his residence to thank him for extending moral support in fighting the legal battle against the producer.</div> </div>
