Sameera Reddy, who made her acting debut with the 2002 film 'Maine Dil Tujhko Diya', took a break from the industry. The actress is known for her appearances in several Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films during the 2000s. After stepping away from showbiz, she has become active on social media, often sharing antics with her mother-in-law, Manjri Varde, whom she fondly calls "Sassy Sasu."
In a recent interview, Sameera revealed that her mother-in-law used to join her and her husband (then boyfriend) on their movie dates and even allowed Sameera to spend the night at their house before marriage.
In a conversation with the YouTube channel Lxme, Sameera said, “Akshai would get her to join us on our dates, and this is something I could not… He would be like, ‘You know, my mother is single, she is a divorcee.’ So, for the first six months of my life, I had the mother come with us for movies. He’s like, ‘No, I have to take my mother for the movie.’”

The 'Musafir' actress shared a lighthearted memory of her mother-in-law discussing her husband Akshai's exes. Her mother-in-law assured unwavering support for Sameera, which helped create a quirky and easy bond between them.
Sameera described her mother-in-law as a mix of both modern and traditional. “She was okay if I spent the night there. I was 32, Akshai was 30, and she was like, ‘You guys are in your 30s. I am not dumb,’” she revealed.
Sameera tied the knot with entrepreneur Akshai in 2014, and the couple has two children.
On the work front, Sameera is expected to play a key role in the Ajay Devgn-starrer 'Naam - The Dyslexia Aadmi' by Anees Bazmee. The movie is slated to hit theaters on November 22.
