“He is like family to me. He is a thorough professional and it’s always a pleasure associating with him. Be it 'Golmaal Again' or 'Total Dhamaal', both our franchises have been loved by the audience,” she says.
A Mumbaikar at heart, Sangeeta wants to take her banner, Mangalmurti Films, to the next level with good entertaining content. “I’m always looking for good scripts and directors. Currently, we are seeing a drastic change in the digital world. As a content creator, I would like to venture into newer mediums and reach out to younger audiences,” she asserts.
Talking about her journey as a producer, she says, “It has been quiet interesting. I want to be involved in movies that have good content and will appeal to the audience. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the movies that I have been associated with as a producer or co-producer. I am sure that in the future also I will continue being a part of movies that will not only have a good script, but also have commercial value.”
Incidentally, Sangeeta was the only Bollywood personality who was invited at the Gucci Garden in Florence, Italy, and also for an exclusive lunch at Castello Sonnino, a perfectly preserved historic wine estate. “I appreciate art and feel that designers are no less than artists,” she shares.
Though Sangeeta has a keen interest in films, fashion and fitness, she admits that her philanthropic activities give her maximum pleasure. She has formed Maitree Charitable Trust, her brainchild, that recently worked for the beautification of the Worli Koliwada coastline. “I think it was artist Rouble Nagi’s talent that actually changed the entire look of the area. We all need to do our bit to make this city a better place to live in,” she signs off.
