The legal battle between filmmaker Sanjay Gupta on one side and producer Vinod Bachchan, IFTPC, (Indian Film and Television Producers Council) FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) on the other, culminated on Thursday with the High Court ordering Gupta to deposit Rs 20 lakh in court within a specified time period.READ: CID gets Sanjay Gupta on remand for 4 days The court also stated that in case of default by him in the payments to the court, the Non-Cooperative Directive instituted against Sanjay Gupta by the JDSC (Joint Dispute Settlement Committee) of the FWICE and IFTPC would once again become operational and the amount deposited till then would be forfeited.
The court also granted Bachchan a certain time period to institute legal proceedings to recover the money, said a press note issued by the FWICE.

@TOIEntertain There were also reports in the press of affiliates opposing the FWICE on this matter. Kamlesh Pandey, President, FWICE, said, “90 per cent of the affiliates, who had earlier been made to sign a paper by Ashoke Pandit (President of Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association) opposing the FWICE decision, had withdrawn their objections the next day itself. This verdict vindicates the impartial stand taken by the JDSC of the FWICE and IFTPC.”
