The London born starlet, who has worked with all the big wigs - Shah Rukh, Farhana dn Ranbir, is all set to make a dazzling debut with co-star Ali Fazal in 'Baat Bann Gayi'. TOI gets into a freewheeling chat with the actress. How did you bag your first role? I went for an audition, which was an inprovisation based on some information/ brief about character.
Post that was shortlisted and called for a narration. I was the last actor to be finalised, that too just a day before the shoot!
Tell us about your character in the movie. I play Rachna, a fun loving, girl next door who loves her prince charming; Kabir (Ali Fazal). She believes in romance, yet adheres to family values and respects her brothers' wishes more then anything. (
Gulshan Grover)
How was the experience of working in Baat Bann Gayi? Its very close to my heart being my debut as a lead actress. I learnt a lot while working with senior actors and the whole team was very welcoming. We had a blast on the sets.
You've worked with Farhan and Ranbir and done an ad shoot with SRK. Tell us individually about their style of acting. I can say from whatever I know of them, that they share passion for what they do, which I truly admire. Shah Rukh has an infectious energy because he is so dedicated. Farhan seems very composed, and is quite the entertainer. Though Ranbir is a fun loving prankster on the set but he is one of the most humble person I have ever come across. He is currently such a big inspiration for me, I really would love to work with him again.
What is the kind of role you'd want to do in future? I want to be able to challenge myself as an actor, work on different scripts and be versatile.
Anyone from the industry you consider your idol? I don't have idols as such. However currently Ranbir is definitely an inspiration!
What's next in the offing? I will start shooting in a couple of days for a new feature, which is a rocking script and great team.
