Shraddha Kapoor invites women to watch 'Stree' with her tonight
While her ghost-comedy ‘Stree’ has opened to mixed reviews, Shraddha Kapoor has a reason to smile. If the trade figures being circulated are anything to go by, the film's collection has shot up considerably between Friday and Saturday. Positive word-of-mouth seems to have worked in the film's favour. Now, we hear that Shraddha has invited a host of women from different walks of life to watch the Amar Kaushik directorial with her at a suburban multiplex tonight.
Stree, written by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, in its own style, is an imaginative journey of a world where men are locked up in homes so women can be safe on the streets.

The film, also starring Rajkummar Rao and Aparshakti Khurrana, challenges patriarchy in a humourous way. Set in Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh, the film has powerful scenes which revolve around a discontent female spirit who scares men to the point that they don’t want to be home alone.
Given that in essence the film challenges patriarchy and celebrates woman power, Shraddha has decided to watch ‘Stree’ with other strees for company.
On the work front, Shraddha will now get busy with the promotions of 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' that also stars Shahid Kapoor, followed by the prep and shooting for the Saina Nehwal biopic.
