Sonu Sood to help 'Munna Bhai' actor Surendra Rajan reach his home town

, Sonu Sood went out of his way to help the migrants who were struggling to get to their homes. Recently, the

actor

helped out his 'R... Rajkumar' co-star, Surendra Rajan, who had come to Mumbai from his home town, Satna, to shoot for a web series in March. However, the actor, who was also seen in '

Munna Bhai MBBS

', has been stranded in the city ever since. When Sonu got to know about this, he assured Rajan that he would be back in home town before June 18.

Praising Sonu’s work, Rajan said that one cannot do all that the '

Simmba

' actor has been doing unless he has a tremendous will to help people from within. Meanwhile, Rajan is still in touch with his 'Munna Bhai MBBS' co-star Sanjay Dutt, whom he treats like a son. The actor said that though he could have reached out to Dutt, he didn’t do so, as he didn’t want to rely on anyone.

Talking about why the he decided to help the migrants, in a recent interview Sonu said, “I went all out to help these migrants because I was a migrant, too, who came to Mumbai with a lot of dreams. When I saw photographs of their sufferings and read heart-wrenching stories of how they are walking thousands of kilometres without food and water, it reminded me of my early days. I first came to Mumbai by train, without a reserved ticket. I stood by the door and slept in the space next to the washroom. I know what struggle is.”
