Sushant Singh Rajput death case highlights: Rhea Chakraborty will be sent to Byculla jail tomorrow; to spend the night in NCB custody
Investigations into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput has taken a new turn with a possible drug angle becoming the central point of the probe. After the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation interrogating the main accused – Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Indrajit Chakraborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Siddharth Pithani, Samuel Miranda, and Shruti Modi – the Narcotics Control Bureau has stepped in to conduct their investigation into the case. At a time when the late actor’s family is rallying up fans to join various social media movements, Bollywood stars are slowly rising to stand by Rhea and slam the ‘witch hunt’ she has been facing. With the actress showing her full co-operation with the federal investigation agencies, and the case nowhere close to coming to a close, here are all the updates.

Will take matter to SC if Mumbai police accept Rhea's complaint: Lawyer Vikas Singh
Hours after actor Rhea Chakraborty filed a complaint against Sushant Singh's sister requesting the Mumbai police to register an FIR, Vikas Singh, lawyer of the family of Sushant Singh Rajput on Monday said that if the police accept Rhea's complaint, the matter will be taken to the Supreme Court.

I've been given a complaint filed by #RheaChakraborty in Bandra Police station. It's effort to keep jurisdiction of Mumbai Police in this matter when SC said complaints with regard to death of Sushant Singh Rajput will be investigated by CBI. So this is clear attempt to somehow keep the Mumbai Police alive in this matter so that they can do some mischief and ensure that the family of Sushant does not get justice in this matter. If Bandra Police accepts the complaint, it'll be a violation of the order of Supreme Court and hence a contempt of the court. If Bandra Police proceeds with it, we will take the matter to Supreme Court under contempt of court.

Rhea Chakraborty has reached Bandra Police Station where she will reportedly record her statement in the complaint she has filed against Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Priyanka Singh. She has named Priyanka Singh, Dr Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Others for offences of Forgery, NDPS Act and Tele Medicine Practice Guidelines 2020 for having sent a bogus Medical Prescription.

A key witness in the case and a friend of Sushant Singh Rajput, anonymously spoke to Times Now, making several revelations about Rhea Chakraborty and the much talked about drugs conspiracy. According to the channel, Sushant’s friend stated that Rhea's inner circle gave heavy drugs to Sushant and that the actor was forced to take heavy doses. He also reportedly stated that Rhea controlled Sushant’s life entirely, from finances to career.

Following the drug abuse angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has been probing the matter and searching for its links in the tinsel town. Kangana Ranaut has alleged that about 99 percent of the Bollywood industry does drugs. Spilling some beans on the same, actress Shama Sikander reportedly told a news portal that not everybody in the industry is into drugs. She added that she has been to parties where there were no drugs at all and also to some parties where there were drugs. According to her, it is up to you as to what you choose for yourself. She stated that no one forces you to do something at gunpoint or puts anything into your mouth.

According to Times Now, the NCB is reported to examining Showik and Rhea's call data records and their connection with Anuj Keshwani. Meanwhile, Keshwani was arrested for allegedly supplying drugs to Kaizan Ebrahim, who was in contact with the others arrested by NCB.

Bollywood celebrities have been criticizing the manner in which media has been treating Rhea Chakraborty even before she has been proven guilty. Joining the bandwagon is Tisca Chopra who took to her Instagram handle to denounce the treatment of the actress. She shared a post that read, ‘I am not a fan of @rhea_chakraborty, in fact, I didn’t know about her before the #SSRDeathCase... But what we are doing is medieval and just so wrong.. IF by some chance she is innocent, just think IF.. then we will burn in the hell of our own conscience, IF we have one..’

Rhea Chakraborty has filed a police complaint against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Priyanka Singh, before the Mumbai police. In her six- page long complaint the actress has cited that Sushant passed away five days after he obtained a prescription wherein “he was unlawfully prescribed psychotrophic substances at the behest of his sister Priyanka”. Rhea urged in her complaint that an FIR should be registered against Priyanka Singh, Dr Tarun Kumar, under the provision of the IPC 1860, the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Drugs Act, 1985 and Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020

Rhea Chakraborty has filed a Police Complaint before the Mumbai Police against Priyanka Singh , Dr Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Others for offences of Forgery , NDPS Act and Tele Medicine Practice Guidelines 2020 for having sent a bogus Medical Prescription depicting SSR as an Out Patient Department person when he was in Mumbai on 8th June 2020 prescribing Schedule Drugs which are listed in Schedule of NDPS Act listed at items 36 and 37 as Psychotropic Substances and Tele Medicines Practice Guidelines 3.7.4 dealing with Prohibited List , which prohibits prescribing of any Narcotic or Psychotropic Substance listed in the NDPS Act. It is a misconduct under 3.7.1.4 of the Tele Medicine Practice Guidelines.
