In this exciting phase of her career, where
Tabu is getting to explore an array of interesting roles, there’s one character that has been a constant with the actress. In her recent films like Bholaa, Kuttey and even Drishyam the actress was seen donning the khaki vardi. As a cop, she was able to strike a cord with the audience in these films.
While Bollywood buffs loved her performance and showered her with praises, it is an appreciation from a real-life cop that made Tabu feel extremely special.
She says, “Once I met the IG (Inspector General) in Pune, this was when I was shooting for Andhadhun. She loved Drishyam. She looked very stern and strict. I was nervous knowing that she’s seen the film. I was worried that she doesn’t give me a full dressing down for anything (I portrayed in the film).”
However, Tabu was pleased after she received a pat on the back from the cop instead. She elaborates the instance saying, “In a very few words, she was very appreciative and said, ‘We can’t be as glamorous as you all look on screen, but I really liked it’. Drishyam also had that emotional side (of a mother apart from being a cop) so many women, cops or not, they connected to that.”
