The funny bad guys are back

...plotting and planning in the laugh riot releasing today
The funny bad guys are back
It’s been a while since funny bad guys like Crime Master Gogo have made us roll with laughter with their antics on screen. But imagine, what if we get not one — but four funny gangsters to ribtickle us?
Wouldn’t it be great fun? Films like Andaz Apna Apna, Phir Hera Pheri, and Awara Pagal Deewana have quashed the concept of the traditional villain — an evil and cold-blooded character who gets punished at the climax.

A funny take on them in the shape of the bumbling baddie has resulted in some serious laugh-athons at theatres. And it is these funny bad guys who make today’s big release, Phas Gaye Re Obama — a funny film more hilarious.
The filmmakers say these characters will have audiences in splits. Leading from the front is one of the funniest men in the country, Sanjay Mishra, who plays a recession-hit gangster who is barely able to make ends meet but hopes to some day become an MLA. Neha Dhupia plays Munni Madam — a man-hating gangster who has styled herself on the iconic Gabbar Singh. She runs an all-women gang whose members are named after popular Bollywood heroines. Neha says, “It’s really great to have characters like these rolled into one film. The laughter quotient automatically goes up like never seen before.”
Amole Gupte plays the Minister of Animal Welfare who virtually runs the local kidnapping industry when not trying out new medicines for his piles. “The script is hilarious and having four funny villains is itself a novelty,” he says. And finally, Manu Rishi plays an America-obsessed henchman who joins the Tyagi English Coaching Class to brush up his language before applying for a US Visa. Manu says, “I have grown up in Delhi and such characters actually exist. So, the film is very realistic and the situations are quite logical.”
Filmmaker Subhash Kapoor adds, “Set in the badlands of UP, the humour is earthy, punchy and packed with fair bit of sarcasm which makes us see these bad guys in new light. Don’t be surprised if you come out of the theatre thinking they were not just funny but also adorable.”
