The women in my life deeply influenced me: 'Bajatey Raho' director
A woman intelligently plotting revenge is at the heart of director Shashant A Shah’s 'Bajatey Raho'. And since women have been a major influence in Shah’s life, he decided to cast Dolly Ahluwalia in that crucial role.
Says the director, “As a child, I was very close to my grandmother, a very strong woman. Even at her age, she relished wine and meat and did not let anything mar her effervescent spirit.

I have seen her holding on her own and surviving even in the most adverse conditions. The other women who have deeply influenced me are my mother, wife, my producer Krishika Lulla and Dolly Ahluwalia.”
For Shah, Dolly is Mummyji. He couldn’t picture anyone but her in that role. “There are such super moms in our society. These leaders are in our own homes,” he says.
Krishika Lulla, who’s producing the film in association with NP Singh, says that the aim is to entertain and at the same time, put across a message. “Though our film is a complete entertainer, it also makes people think. The story has been told convincingly and there is nothing over-the-top in it,” she says.
Bajatey Raho, produced by Eros International and MSM Motion Pictures, releases July 26.
