This is what Mrunal Thakur had to say about Hrithik Roshan’s ‘brownface’ act

Hrithik Roshan's upcoming film 'Super 30', which is based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar, is among the most-awaited films over the year. Therefore, it was surprising when his look in the film started receiving flak. Reason: Hrithik sporting a dark complexion in the film.
Mrunal Thakur, who plays Hrithik's love interest in the film, came in defence of her co-star in an interview with a tabloid.She reportedly said that it was required for the character to sport a dark complexion. In fact, it also helped her while facing the actor in the film and that she would end up calling him Anand and not Hrithik. She added that it worked in her case when she had to sport a complexion that was three or fours shades darker in 'Love Sonia', in which she made her debut.
On the good side though, Hrithik's performance in the trailer has been widely appreciated. The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, is releasing on July 12, this year.
