Hussain Kuwajerwala talks about his Bollywood debut After a successful stint on television, Hussain Kuwajerwala is set for his first Friday release —
Shree, scripted and directed by debutant Rajesh Bachchani.
The actor plays the title character, who works in a telecom company, but needs more money. He agrees to give 12 hours of his life for a scientific experiment because of an extraordinary quality that he possesses.
Anjali Patil plays his love interest, Sonu.
Hussain says the unpredictable twists and turns in the plot made him say yes to the film. “During the narration, every time I would predict something, it would turn out to be wrong and the plot would have something different,” he says.
The actor, nervous about his first Bollywood film, says he is feeling like a child awaiting the result of an examination. He says, “In television, the audience has to accept you, whether on this Friday or the next. But here, there is only one Friday… you either are accepted or rejected.”
So, didn’t he try to switch over to the big screen earlier? Hussain confesses that he did try, but nothing worked out. “Maybe my approach was faulty. Also, I got busy with shows and my musical theatre. But when
Shree came my way, I knew it was just right for me,” he says.
Shree, produced by Ciemme Entertainment Pvt Ltd, releases today.
