Vidya Balan of ‘Hum Paanch’ was a kid: Ekta Kapoor

While Milan Luthria’s ‘The Dirty Picture’ has got a thunderous opening and is being loved by one and all, Ekta Kapoor spill the beans on why she wanted Vidya Balan to act in movie.
“There are a lot of heroines in the Indian film industry but very few actresses in here,” Ekta, the producer of the movie told us. From the Vidya Balan of ‘Hum Paanch’ to the Vidya of ‘The Dirty Picture’, which Vidya do you prefer? “Vidya of ‘Hum Paanch’ was a kid and Vidya of ‘The Dirty Picture’ is Silk,” Ekta said.Based on the South film industry, it took almost one and a half years to write the script of the movie. “While the shooting of the movie got over in six months, it took us virtually one and a half years to finalise the script of the movie,” Ekta shared. Though most of the movie has been shot in Hyderabad, Ekta Kapoor never visited the sets of the movie. “Main kabhi shooting par nahi gayi,” said the producer. And though every Friday makes or breaks a movie, Ekta echoes the same. You know, she says, TV is a mass medium and you get umpteen chances to rework on the show but in movies, you work for two years and week decided the fate of the movie.
