Vidya Balan shares new poster of ‘Sherni’, confirms OTT release in June

Vidya Balan has revealed that her next venture ‘Sherni’ will hit the OTT platforms next month. Sharing a poster from the film, the actress announced that the adventure drama will globally premiere on a streaming service in June 2021. “Fearless as she steps out into the world!” Vidya had aptly described her character from the film.

‘Sherni’ stars Vidya Balan in the lead role of an upright Forest Officer who strives for balance in a world of man-animal conflict while she also seeks her true calling in a hostile environment.Sharad Saxena, Mukul Chaddha, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala and Neeraj Kabi are also a part of the riveting narrative which will release on Amazon Prime Video. This film is directed by Amit Masurkar, of ‘Newton’ fame and is produced by T-Series & Abundantia Entertainment.
Previously, Vidya Balan starrer ‘Shakuntala Devi’ had also released on a streaming platform, making ‘Sherni’ her second OTT film. The film went on floors in March 2020 but the makers have to soon halt the same due to the pandemic. Vidya Balan and team ‘Sherni’ managed to shoot the film in Madhya Paradesh when the lockdown norms were eased.
