A biopic on Neerja Bhanot, an airline purser who lost her life saving passengers on a hijacked US-bound Pan Am Flight, struck a chord with many. Critics hailed her performance and fans loved Sonam in and as 'Neerja'.

Kirti Kulhari
A film that initiated debate in the country and raised some socially relevant questions was 'Pink'. Replete with powerful performances, this Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer was one of the most important films of 2016.
