Zoya Akhtar is all set to make a movie inspired by real life rappers from Mumbai chawls. The director, popular for films like 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and 'Dil Dhadakne Do', is soon going to make a movie on Mumbai's street rappers. The film has been tentatively titled 'Gully Boy', states a report in IndianExpress.com.
'Her upcoming movie is a coming of age film inspired by real life rappers from Mumbai's chawls,' a source was quoted as saying.

Zoya is a huge fan of hip hop music and was very much interested by these artists from the ghettos, says a report.

'She found some of them extremely talented. Without a lot of resources and exposure, these artists have created a space for themselves. She instantly took to researching on the subject and has been hanging out with internet sensations like Rapper Divine and Rapper Naezy, who have a fan following of their own. All this and more research; both primary and secondary helped the director in the scripting process,' the source was quoted as saying.
Reportedly, the film will go on floors soon and the director is yet to finalise its cast.
